A Gentle Closeness to a Nude Rebellion

When I had selected the words for the title of my piece, again I wanted to contradict the meaning of those words. (Maybe it's a sarcastic way of looking at things, that I'm not quite sure.) For a rebellion is never gentle, or close --romantically-- for that matter. When I thought about the words "nude rebellion", I thought about female dominance. The illustration of women dominating men, in a romantic sense especially. I wanted to show the independence of the "lesser sex"; more of a political point, rather than a fashion shot from Vogue or something.

As the pieces progress from the first shot to the third and final shot, they illustrate the female model becoming more dominant over the male model. However, there is no sign of abuse in either one of the shots. Actually, in my opinion, the most intense thing in all of these photos is her eyes! I believe her eyes really show the determination of dominance, the drive to be in command, the fire of rebellion.

As far as the gradient is concerned, the more aggressive the photo is, the filter, or the grain complements that. It parallels the mood of each photo, with the first one being soft, romantic and loving; the second photo illustrating struggle and conflict; the third, and the most clear illustrating satisfaction of victory in dominance.

Each photo illustrates an event but is also kind of like a comic strip the illustrates a series of events that have the same common goal. In the photos I tried to capture female dominance, that in my opinion, in this society, is still a bit shunned.
