Being a different religion in a
predominately Christian area of the world can be very nerve
wracking at times. Although the 1st Amendment grants us freedom of religion, there are many loopholes to take that away. Not to mention there is still
a lot of discrimination going on that many people who are not part of the minority
religions are not aware of. My first picture is a collage of different documents such as the
Declaration of Independence and the first
official proclamation of Thanksgiving that are full of references to God. The
second picture is based on the custody battles
separating parents face today and although religion shouldn't be a factor it still is. Also there has been movement in
Congress wether to pass a law allowing the Ten Commandments and other
religious items in public buildings so I added in a poster of the 10 Commandments to make a comment on that. The third is based on a girl in
high school that was not allowed to wear a
pentacle (a
Wiccan/Pagan symbol of faith) as it could be a "gang symbol", yet others were allowed to wear crosses, here is a link to the story
