So, I choose to do mine as a gymnast from I think it was the bejing olympics. My friend posed for it, and I corrected certian parts of her body to match a little more with the picture, but of course couldn't change her whole body without messing all the lines up. I used gradient and lighting on the background, and just tried to get as close as I could but still putting my own spin onto it. Below is the picture that it is recreated from:
